are going to help you improve your Pinterest Marketing and “up” your Pinterest game.

What Makes Pinterest So Awesome

is the incredible amount of organic traffic you can get to your blog or business and it’s no wonder with the over 335 431 million monthly active users that are on Pinterest. There is so much information on Pinterest, you’ll never be at a loss for ideas, important information, recipes and so on… all while educating yourself. You’ll also have the potential to have a pin go viral and that would bring even more traffic to your website.

The user demographic is people with a higher than average income, which is a good thing because most are ready to buy.

Okay,now on to the tips…

Tip #1  Treat Pinterest as a Search Engine

Pinterest is a search engine and not a social media platform. You don’t really interact with people on Pinterest, yes you can leave a comment but that’s about the extent of the social part of Pinterest. Pinterest is kind of like a “visual Google”… search google, words come up… search Pinterest, images come up. Use this “search engine” to your advantage, to actually see what people are looking for.

Tip #2  Use Relevant Keywords

You do not have to be an SEO expert because Pinterest makes it really easy to find relevant keywords. Say you’re searching Pinterest Marketing, when you type Pinterest Marketing in the Pinterest search bar, it brings up a list of relevant searches like this:

It also gives you more keywords underneath the search bar like so:

So, you could use #pinterestmarketingstrategy #pinterestmarketingtips #pinterestmarketingforbloggers and so on. These are what people are searching for. Using these relevant keywords is vital to your SEO. Make sure you use them in your titles, images, pin descriptions, board descriptions, business name, bio and blog posts. Using relevant keywords is the secret to ranking in the Pinterest Smart Feed.

#3  Use Attention Grabbing Titles

Your pin titles are the first things that people will read, so if you want them to read any further you need to spark their interest and grab their attention. Think of it this way, when you are scrolling through all the pins,  which of these two pins would you most likely click on? #1 – My Pinterest Marketing Strategy or #2 – 7 Tips to Sky-Rocket Your Pinterest Marketing? Yes, #2 has the more attention grabbing title!

#4  Make Awesome Pins

This is another “attention grabbing” Pinterest Marketing Strategy that is so important! You need to have awesome looking pins with easy to read fonts. Beautiful images, colors, fonts, size and branding… they all matter!

If you’re thinking… but I’m not a graphic designer, honestly you don’t have to look far at all to get some awesome ideas of how to make a gorgeous pin. wink wink ♥ Pinterest

The other super important factor into making an awesome pin, is to make sure it is vertical! These types of pins are what Pinterest wants. Also make sure they are a 2:3 ratio, ie: 600 x 900, 1000 x 1500, you get the drift. Last but not least, be sure to Brand your pins. That means to make sure you put your logo, your fonts and your colors on your pins. You don’t have to use all three on every pin you make… every time, but make sure they at least have your logo on them. You want to make sure that people know it was you who made that awesome pin.

Where to make your own gorgeous pins? Definitely… Canva! You can do soooo much with Canva… it’s crazy! Canva is free to use but they also have a pro version if you’d like that. They have plenty of video tutorials if you need any help but the app is really easy to use. Give them a try you’re going to love them.

#5  Consistency

Consistency is key🔑 to making all of this work for you. Pinterest is all about what you put into it. You can’t just pin like crazy for a couple hours a day and then forget about it for a week. You’ll be disappointed if you do that because it doesn’t work that way. You need to work at it, spread it out throughout each day and see what works best for you. Be sure to stay consistent and you won’t regret it.
